What’s wrong with dry, hard stools with blood in them?

Dry and hard stools are usually a sign of constipation. Dry and hard stool with blood, may be constipation, anal fissure, hemorrhoids and other complications, may also be caused by rectal cancer and other diseases, should be timely consultation to identify the cause.
1. Anal fissure: due to dry stool, too much force during defecation can damage the skin of anal canal, or repeated injuries make the skin ulcerated, which leads to the occurrence of anal fissure, bleeding during defecation, perianal pain symptoms.
2. Hemorrhoids: If you drink alcohol for a long time and eat a lot of stimulating food, it can cause dry and hard stools as well as induce the occurrence of hemorrhoids. Patients may have the symptom of blood in stool, usually fresh blood after intermittent bowel movement, accompanied by perianal prolapse, anal itching, perianal pain and other manifestations.
3. Rectal cancer: refers to malignant tumor originated from epithelial cells of rectal mucosa, patients have no obvious symptoms in early stage, when the tumor progresses to a certain degree, symptoms of blood and mucus on the surface of stool can appear. When the cancer invades and causes partial obstruction of intestinal tube, dry stool, constipation, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, hyperactive bowel sounds and other manifestations may appear.
