What are the chances of getting pregnant after an abortion?

The ability to conceive again after an abortion depends on the number of abortions performed, the trauma suffered by the patient during the procedure, and the post-operative recovery. If the procedure is successful, the majority of patients will still be able to conceive after an effective recovery. If the trauma suffered during the procedure is minimal and the endometrium and ovarian function recover well after the procedure, a woman who meets the criteria to become pregnant again will have a better chance of conceiving when she has intercourse during ovulation. If the patient’s endometrium is more damaged or the basal layer of the endometrium is damaged during the operation, it is difficult for the patient’s endometrium to repair to normal in a short time after the operation, or even never recover, resulting in secondary infertility. In addition, it is recommended that sexual intercourse be prohibited for 1 month after abortion to avoid infection. For women who do not have fertility requirements and have irregular ovulation for 2-3 months after the operation, attention should be paid to reasonable contraception to prevent secondary damage to the body from unwanted pregnancy.
