Do low-grade squamous lesions heal on their own?

Low-grade squamous epithelial lesions of the cervix can heal spontaneously because they can transform into normal cervical tissue and heal on their own. However, low-grade lesions can also be transformed into higher grade lesions, that is, they can be transformed into high-grade squamous epithelial lesions over time. Therefore, it is recommended to intervene clinically as soon as possible, such as laser treatment, microwave treatment, or local cryotherapy of the cervix, so that the lesion can be necrotic and then grow back to normal tissue. After surgery, it is recommended to review TCT and HPV in six months after surgery, and to do cervical cancer screening once a year.
