Can Osteomyelitis and Bone Cancer be seen on an MRI?

Osteomyelitis and bone cancer can be seen on MRI.
1. Nuclear magnetic manifestation of osteomyelitis: most of the osteomyelitis is caused by the destruction of bone due to the invasion of pathogenic bacteria. The manifestations of osteomyelitis patients on MRI include: decreased signal intensity of bone marrow in T1-weighted image and increased signal of bone marrow in T2-weighted image.
Edema, exudation and necrosis can be seen around the bone marrow, and patients with extensive lesions can also see diffuse patchy low signal or medium signal on T1-weighted image.
2. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) manifestations of bone cancer: bone cancer is malignant tumor of bone, NMR manifestations of bone cancer include: round or oval low signal in bone, interruption of continuity and integrity of bone, uneven or interrupted signal of periosteum, blurred boundaries and unclear demarcation with surrounding tissues, and reduced signal of soft tissues around the bone, etc. If you feel uncomfortable, you should go to the hospital promptly.
If there is any discomfort, one should go to the hospital in time and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor. If osteomyelitis or bone cancer is suspected, in addition to MRI examination, other auxiliary means are also needed for comprehensive judgment.
