The right nostril is not ventilated, mainly due to the more pronounced inflammatory changes in the mucosa of the right nostril due to congestion, edema, and even exudation of inflammatory material. It can be seen clinically in inflammatory reactions in the upper respiratory tract, such as acute rhinitis, acute attacks of chronic rhinitis, nasal polyps accompanied by acute attacks of chronic inflammation, or even deviated nasal septum accompanied by chronic inflammation. At this time, the body is exposed to cold, rain or inhalation of some irritating odors, such as sulfur dioxide, ammonia, oil fumes, resulting in a significant inflammatory reaction in the right nostril, while the left nostril is relatively insignificant, the inflammatory reaction in the right nostril may be more serious and the nostril is not open. Clinically, we can test the blood routine, take a cranial CT if necessary and do nasal endoscopy to clearly diagnose the inflammatory state of the right nostril, and even the presence of occupying lesions and malformations, so as to carry out the corresponding symptomatic and etiological treatment.
