Hypopigmentation can’t rule out vitiligo by observation, the diagnosis of vitiligo needs to rely on histopathologic examination, Wood’s lamp and other examination means. Hypopigmentation is a large group of skin diseases, mainly melanin reduction, common symptoms are vitiligo, lichen planus and hypopigmentation after skin inflammation, etc. Vitiligo is a kind of hypopigmentation disease. Although vitiligo has some characteristic manifestations, such as some accompanied by hair whitening, no self-conscious discomfort symptoms, etc., but still can not be diagnosed by symptoms or observation, its diagnosis needs to be established on the basis of examination. Important tests include: histopathologic examination, Wood’s lamp, dermoscopy, antibody testing, etc. If hypopigmentation occurs, it is recommended to actively seek medical attention, improve the examination, and make a clear diagnosis in order to have targeted treatment.
