How to treat insufficient blood supply to the heart

Insufficient blood supply to the heart, i.e. myocardial ischemia, may be caused by coronary heart disease, variant angina, myocardial bridge, etc. It is recommended that medication and surgical treatment be given according to the different causes. 1. Coronary heart disease: The occurrence of atherosclerotic plaques causes narrowing of the coronary arteries of the heart. When blood flow passes through the narrowed area, it cannot supply blood and oxygen to the myocardium, thus causing myocardial ischemia. Treatment can be applied with beta receptor antagonists such as metoprolol to reduce myocardial oxygen consumption, nitrate drugs such as nitroglycerin to dilate coronary blood vessels, antiplatelet drugs such as aspirin, and statins such as atorvastatin calcium tablets. 2. Variant angina: transient contraction of coronary arteries, causing interruption or reduction of coronary blood flow leading to myocardial ischemia. Treatment generally applies calcium channel antagonists, such as diltiazem, verapamil, etc., to improve blood supply to the heart by relaxing blood vessels. 3. Myocardial bridge: When myocardial bridge contraction is severe, it leads to narrowing of the compressed wall coronary artery and reduction of distal blood volume, triggering myocardial ischemia. Drug treatment can choose Carvedilol, Bisoprolol and other beta-receptor antagonists to increase coronary blood flow reserve and relieve myocardial ischemia. Serious cases can be treated with surgical procedures such as coronary artery bypass surgery and myocardial bridge release surgery. Consider the possibility of myocardial ischemia when there is discomfort and pain in the precordial area, accompanied by arrhythmia, dyspnea and other symptoms. Please do not self-medicate, it is recommended to go to the hospital, clarify the cause of the disease, and diagnose and treat under the guidance of the doctor.
