A pimple-like growth on a sore eye may be caused by folliculitis, blepharitis or acne, which can be treated with medication as well as surgery.
1. Folliculitis: It is a common inflammatory skin disease of hair follicles, which can cause pimples on the eyes, and may be accompanied by painful symptoms, and can be treated with medicines such as mupirocin ointment, fusidic acid cream or neomycin ointment.
2. Blepharitis: If you have pimples on your eyes with redness, swelling and pain, it may be blepharitis. Blepharitis is an acute purulent inflammation, also known as pinkeye, which can be treated by using drugs such as levofloxacin eye drops, tifloxacin eye drops or erythromycin eye ointment. If it cannot be relieved, it needs to be treated by surgical incision and drainage of pus.
3. Acne: If your eyes hurt and you have a pimple, it may be caused by acne, which is a chronic inflammatory disease that can be treated with medications such as adapalene gel, retinoic acid cream or tazarotene cream.
