Ingrown toes can be treated by temporary observation or conservative treatment if it is caused by acquired factors with no symptoms or mild symptoms, or surgical treatment if it is caused by congenital factors or severe pain.
1. Acquired factors
(1) Temporary observation: If the mild ingrown toes are caused by acquired bad habits, with no pain symptoms and no effect on walking, this situation can be temporarily observed and does not require special treatment.
(2) Conservative treatment: If the patient has mild ingrown toes, which affects walking, the patient can be assisted by external fixation devices such as wearing orthopedic braces to improve the phenomenon of ingrown toes. Meanwhile, try to wear thick-soled and fat shoes to avoid squeezing the toes.
2. Congenital factors
(1) Surgical treatment: If there is congenital developmental abnormality, or the pain symptoms are more serious, affecting normal activities such as walking, you can consider orthopedic osteotomy and fixation surgery to alleviate the symptoms.
If the symptoms of ingrown toes appear, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for early and regular treatment.
