Why do people fart? Because there is gas in the body that needs to be expelled. There are two main sources of gas in the body: air swallowed unconsciously when eating or talking; and gas produced by the decomposition and fermentation of food in the digestive tract. 2, the discharge of gas There are three channels: ① is up, through burping; ② is also up, the gas will be absorbed by the blood, through the metabolism of the lungs exhaled; ③ is with the intestinal peristalsis down, through the sphincter (chrysanthemum) discharge, that is, fart. Where do the farts that are held back go? This is divided into two cases to explain: 1, temporary fart held back the original way back If the occasion is inconvenient and other reasons to temporarily hold back the fart, then the gas will return to the large intestine, waiting for the next “release”. Some people feel that they have leaked out, but in fact it is still because they did not hold it in. 2, long-held farts are absorbed by the body But if you have been holding farts (for example, all day long), a large amount of gas accumulation in the large intestine, down can not pass, our body will look for another way: part of the fart components will be reabsorbed through the intestinal mucosa by the blood. Can you burp out a fart that you hold back? Not likely. What you burp out is actually a large amount of gas that has collected in your stomach. A fart that you hold back has to travel up through 1.5 meters of large intestine and 5 meters of small intestine in order to reach your stomach and be expelled through burping. But once the gas enters the intestine, it is very difficult to go back again. Because the intestine never stops working downward, pushing digested food to the anus. It is difficult for gas to resist this force and return to the stomach. However, it is still possible for a “fart” to come out of the mouth if it is held in. Remember what I said above about holding a fart for a long time and having it absorbed into the bloodstream? The gas that is reabsorbed by the blood will go through the blood circulation to the lungs, where it will be metabolized by the lungs and exhaled from the mouth or nose. However, because of this process, the composition of the gas is changed and there is no odor, and it is no longer a fart. Is holding farts often equal to chronic poisoning? This is too serious to say poisoning, but it is true that holding farts often affects people’s health. 1, triggering intestinal disorders A large amount of gas accumulation in the intestines, which is not conducive to the contraction function of the intestines and stomach, so that people will have abdominal distension, indigestion discomfort. 2, leading to mental discomfort Fart contains foul gas such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, etc. is absorbed by the blood, if more than the compensatory limit, may cause blood acidity fluctuations will make people feel depressed, dizzy, chest tightness, etc.. Therefore, there is an old saying: if you have a fart, you can be forgiven for holding your internal injuries, but you can be forgiven for releasing it. Is it a good thing to fart more often? There is a degree of everything, beyond which there will be adverse effects, and farting is the same. If you fart a lot, you need to be alert to the disease factor. Usually people will fart 6~15 times a day and expel about 500~1500ml of gas. The reason why there is such a big difference is mainly related to the food people eat. If you eat more gas-producing foods such as potatoes and onions, you will fart more. In addition to excluding the dietary factors, if you find that you have more farts than usual for several days in a row, as well as abdominal pain and discomfort, it is likely that the cause of the disease is irritable colon syndrome. At this point, it is time to see a doctor.
