Treatment of Heat Stroke

Heatstroke treatment methods mainly include rapid relocation, supplemental water, cooling and so on.
1. Quickly transfer location, if there is heat stroke, need to promptly transfer location to a cool and ventilated place, so as not to cause the temperature to continue to rise, the individual body will have a greater impact on the recovery.
2. Supplemental water, after heatstroke need to timely replenish water, can be appropriate to supplement the cool salt water, both can reduce the body temperature, but also can prevent dehydration.
3. Cooling: Use wet cool towels placed on the patient’s head and trunk to cool down, or place ice packs in the patient’s armpits, neck and groin. If the extracorporeal cooling is ineffective, use 4℃ ice saline for gastric or rectal irrigation, or use 4℃ 5% glucose saline or saline 1000~2000ml intravenous drip, both cooling effect, but also appropriate expansion of volume.
4. Seek medical assistance: if the patient does not respond, call 120 in time, open the airway, check the breathing and give appropriate treatment.
It is recommended to take precautions against heatstroke in hot weather, and supplement water and electrolyte-containing drinks in a timely manner when sweating heavily in a hot environment.
