The difference between ultrasound and MRI

Color ultrasound is the use of the principle of acoustic imaging, acoustic waves can penetrate the parenchymal organs to form ultrasound images; nuclear spin motion is the basis of magnetic resonance imaging. The difference between color ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging is that color ultrasound is easily restricted by the doctor’s examination level and the operation method, so that the diagnosis and detection of some diseases are limited; magnetic resonance is not affected by the operator, color ultrasound is interfered by the gas, so that the ultrasound scan will have blind areas, such as the obstruction of the lung field, the interference of gas in the gastrointestinal tract, some of the liver will not be scanned; magnetic resonance is not affected by these, and the whole liver can be scanned. The whole liver can be scanned clearly. MRI is affected by metals in the patient’s body, such as pacemakers, prosthetic valves, and metal restrictions next to important organs, and is not able to do MRI, while ultrasound is not affected or restricted by metals in the body.
