What does fibrotic lesion mean

Fibrotic lesions are most commonly seen as pathological changes in the lungs, most commonly due to scarring left behind by inflammation of the lungs, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc., caused by bacterial pneumonia, but also includes tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Through the corresponding anti-inflammatory, anti-infection treatment, the inflammation completely subsides, after reaching cure, it will leave different degrees of pulmonary fibrosis, calcification of the lesions, usually no clinical manifestations, do not need special treatment. It is also seen in idiopathic diffuse interstitial pulmonary fibrosis caused by unknown factors, and the fibrosis of the lungs may progressively aggravate and seriously cause pulmonary dysfunction, which should be treated with glucocorticoids or immunosuppressant combination therapy at an early stage.
