The growth process of height is regulated and controlled by hormones secreted by the endocrine system. From infancy to prepubescence, growth hormone and thyroid hormone are dependent. The growth rate accelerates again during puberty, and the growth during this period is influenced by sex hormones in addition to the above two hormones. Growth hormone is a substance necessary for regulating the normal growth of the human body from birth to adulthood, and it is the only hormone that makes bones grow linearly. If growth hormone deficiency causes short stature, adult height is around 130 cm, with normal body proportions and bone age lagging behind by more than 2 years. After treatment with growth hormone, the growth rate is accelerated and the phenomenon of catch-up growth occurs. 2.Thyroid hormone Promotes tissue development and increases protein synthesis and growth. During fetal and infant periods, it has a role in protein synthesis of brain cells and normal development of nerve cells. After the brain matures, physical growth still depends on thyroid hormone. 3. Sex hormones can trigger accelerated growth during puberty, but they also accelerate skeletal maturation and close the epiphysis to the point where growth slows to a halt.
