Spleen deficiency can be massaged with acupoints such as Foot Sanli, Guanyuan, Zhongkou, Spleen Yu and Stomach Yu.
1. Foot Sanli: Located 3 inches below the calf’s nose, one horizontal finger (middle finger) from the anterior edge of the tibia. It is an acupoint on the foot-yangming stomach meridian. Pressing and kneading it can regulate the spleen and stomach, treating stomach pain, bloating and indigestion.
2. Guanyuan: Located on the anterior midline, 3 inches below the umbilicus. Moxibustion or massage of this point has the effect of strengthening the spleen.
3. Middle Epigastric: located in the upper abdomen, on the anterior midline, 4 inches above the umbilicus. It is the recruitment point of the stomach, and can be used to treat stomach pain, vomiting, hiccups, regurgitation, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, diarrhea and other conditions.
4. Spleen Yu, Stomach Yu: located in the back, Spleen Yu is located in the 11th thoracic vertebra under the spinous process 1.5 inches; Stomach Yu is located in the 12th thoracic vertebra under the spinous process 1.5 inches. It is the dorsal acupoint of the spleen and stomach, and is also a commonly used acupoint for regulating the spleen and stomach.
