If you have wisdom teeth extracted and they hurt at night, it is possible that you have symptoms of dry socket. Dry socket usually occurs about 3-4 days after wisdom tooth extraction, when there is severe pain, and the alveolar fossa is empty, and there is bad breath in the mouth, then the patient usually needs to go to the stomatology department for wound treatment, scraping the alveolar fossa in the wound, then fresh blood appears, and iodoform gauze is inserted in the alveolar fossa, then go home for observation and oral medication is needed. Anti-inflammatory drugs or intravenous fluids, such as cephalosporin or etimesine sulfate, may be used. If there is an allergy, erythromycin can also be given and the iodoform gauze can be removed when there are no symptoms. Usually, the gauze is removed in about a week or can be changed every other day if there is time, which can promote wound healing and avoid food embedded in the fossa, as well as avoiding the symptoms of infection.
