Increased production or decreased excretion of uric acid, a purine metabolite in the body, causes hyperuricemia. Hyperuricemia needs to be controlled by the following measures: i. Low purine diet and reduced intake. Less consumption of meat soup, rib soup, shabu-shabu, animal offal, fish, shrimp, crab, peas, bean sprouts, and less beer; second, drink more water, more than 2000mL per day, which is conducive to uric acid excretion; third, if the above measures are not effective, drug treatment is required. The first major class of drugs commonly used is allopurinol and febuxostat, which inhibit uric acid production; the second major class of drugs is to promote uric acid excretion, such as benzbromarone and propofol, take while drinking more water, and the third major class of drugs is to alkalize urine, such as sodium bicarbonate.”
