Sleep ghosting, also known medically as sleep paralysis, is a sleep disorder that is more common in everyday life. Sleep paralysis is usually caused by excessive fatigue during the day, improper sleep position, excessive stress and other reasons. When the patient is about to wake up, the brain will first perceive the outside world, while the body’s random muscles are still in a static state. This temporary paralysis results in the patient not being able to direct the body to move, and the skeletal muscles are in a state of extremely low tension. Therefore, when sleep paralysis occurs, the patient is usually able to see images or hear external sounds, but is unable to move his/her body on his/her own. When this happens, the patient should keep a good attitude and develop good sleeping habits, which can help improve the situation.
