Morita Therapy for Obsessive-Compulsive Thinking

Morita therapy is a method of treating neurosis invented by a Japanese scholar named Prof. Masuma Morita. There are certain procedures for this treatment, the sedentary period which is about a week at the beginning, where the patient is made to lie on the bed and do nothing, not to move anything, so that the patient can relax as much as possible. After the sedentary period, the patient will be allowed to perform light activities but not many tasks, and then step by step through the various stages, the patient will be allowed to go out. The principle is to let nature take its course, so that patients do not do too much struggle with the disease, such as obsessive-compulsive concepts, that is, obsessive-compulsive and anti-obsessive, manifested in the patient knows that certain ideas are not necessary, want to control themselves not to do it, but the more control, the more they want to do it, like patting a ball the more force, the more the downward pressure of the ball will be bouncing higher. Morita therapy is to let the patient relax to accept certain ideas, reduce anxiety and depression, to achieve the purpose of slowly curing the disease, for obsessive-compulsive disorder also has a certain effect.
