Liver pain is a common symptom of liver cancer, but the chance of it being liver cancer is not high, and its diagnosis relies more on laboratory and imaging tests, not a single symptom. According to the patient’s medical history, triggers, accompanying symptoms and signs, liver pain is commonly seen in the following diseases: 1. Chest diseases, such as rib fracture, chest wall contusion, pneumothorax, pneumonia, etc; 2. biliary system diseases, such as gallstones, cholecystitis, cholangiocarcinoma, etc; 3. liver diseases: cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, liver cancer, etc. The diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma relies more on laboratory examination of tumor markers, imaging examination of abdominal ultrasound, MRI, dynamic-enhanced CT, enhanced MRI, with at least two of the four examinations showing obvious enhancement in the arterial phase, and “fast in, fast out” typical features of hepatocellular carcinoma in the portal phase and or delayed phase. For patients with liver pain, it is recommended to consult regular hospitals as soon as possible for professional examination and clear diagnosis.
