Should I do a CT on a baby with a very minor fall?

In clinical work and online consultations, we often encounter cases where a baby falls off the bed or couch and hits his or her head, or falls and hits his or her head while toddling. What should I do if I am worried that my baby has a problem? In this case, because of the elasticity of the skull, brain tissue, and vascular flexibility of children, there is more cushioning against external forces, so most of the time there is nothing wrong and there is no need to worry too much. However, there are cases of very minor collisions that cause serious consequences, such as intracranial hemorrhage, leaving sequelae, and in serious cases, not yet life. So, how to observe the baby after the injury, when should consult a doctor to check it? 1.If the baby has no obvious abnormalities after the fall, good spirit, normal nursing or eating, no crying or headache, nausea, vomiting symptoms, normal urination, good sleep, there is generally no problem; 2.If the baby has poor spirit, sleep, limb or facial twitching, refusing to nurse or eat, vomiting, crying, or even drowsy after the fall, it often suggests intracranial problems. It is necessary to go to the hospital; 3. The hospital examines the child including reaction to external things, whether the pupils are normal, whether the fontanelle tension is normal, etc. to initially determine the child’s injury and decide whether to conduct a brain CT examination. 4, once the physician decided to check the brain CT, parents should follow the advice and carry out the examination, do not worry about radiation damage, doctors will also consider this problem, check the radiation damage is very small, if not check the CT, delayed diagnosis and treatment, is the big loss.
