Ovarian stimulation syndrome is also known as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. The recovery time is about 1 week to 1 month depending on the period of illness.
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome may be related to the patient’s body type, polycystic ovary syndrome, genetic mutations, and other factors, and is also seen in patients undergoing ovulation induction therapy. Patients may experience nausea, vomiting, bloating, and diarrhea.
The disease is generally self-limiting, with recovery usually occurring within 1 to 2 weeks through self-regulation and repair of the body and ovarian tissues; recovery time is relatively prolonged in pregnant women, usually about 1 month.
Patients with mild ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome usually have no complications. If the condition is more severe, complications such as blood clots and renal failure may occur, and may even be life-threatening. Patients with these conditions must seek medical attention in a timely manner so as not to miss out on their condition.
