Surgery is recommended for early stage lung cancer, and if the nodule in the lung is highly suspected of malignancy and larger than 1cm. Pre-operative tests, such as CT, PET-CT, will be done to see if there is infiltration of lymph or other organs. If there is no infiltration, it can be removed directly by thoracoscopy, which is a minimally invasive procedure. If there is a small infiltration around the tumor, it can also be treated under thoracoscopy. If the pathology suggests a malignant tumor, such as adenocarcinoma or squamous carcinoma, regular follow-up is required to see if new nodules or lesions will occur. The follow-up is 0.5 years/time at the beginning, and after one year, it can be 1-2 years/time for regular follow-up. If there is invasion around the early stage lung cancer, a short course of chemotherapy with low dose will be recommended again.
