Physiologic stomach pain is referred to as dysmenorrhea. Abdominal pain during menstruation may be primary dysmenorrhea or secondary dysmenorrhea. It can be relieved by hot compresses, medication and surgery.
1. Primary dysmenorrhea: this is more common, patients can use hot water bags to apply localized hot compresses on the lower abdomen during menstruation, or drink hot brown sugar and ginger water. You can also listen to music to distract your attention, if the pain is more serious, you can take oral ibuprofen and other painkillers.
2. Secondary dysmenorrhea: mostly due to pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine fibroids, etc., this situation needs to be treated with medication and, if necessary, surgery.
If it is pelvic inflammation caused by abdominal pain during menstruation, you can consider using broad-spectrum antibiotics, such as ceftriaxone sodium, cefoxitin sodium, combined with metronidazole, tinidazole and other medications.
Oral painkillers, such as ibuprofen, can also be taken if more severe pain is caused by fibroids. If the fibroid enlargement, abnormal bleeding, anemia, etc. should be removed as soon as possible surgery.
If dysmenorrhea is obvious, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, complete the relevant examinations, and target diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor. Note that the use of the above drugs need to follow the doctor’s instructions, do not blindly use their own medicine, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
