According to statistics, about 1/3 of the world’s population suffers from gastric diseases, and China is a major gastric disease country, with about 300,000 people dying from gastric cancer every year. Unlike some common diseases such as hepatitis and influenza, no vaccine has been successfully developed in the field of gastric diseases. Since 1995, Prof. Quanming Zou of the Department of Laboratory Medicine of the Third Military Medical University led his research team to develop a new national class I drug, “oral recombinant Helicobacter pylori vaccine”, which can prevent gastric disease after more than 10 years of hard work (referred to as gastric disease vaccine). The vaccine has passed the phase III clinical trial. Third Military Medical University, Science and Technology Department, said this is the world’s first completed Phase III clinical trials of Helicobacter pylori gastric disease vaccine, is truly independent research and development by the Chinese, with full independent intellectual property rights of the original vaccine, but also the first class of new drugs with independent intellectual property rights in Chongqing. This vaccine is suitable for all people, and after one oral dose, it can significantly reduce the incidence of gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, and even gastric cancer and gastric lymphoma caused by H. pylori infection within a few years.
