How to read the MRI report card for liver cancer

The MRI report card of liver cancer is usually divided into examination description section and conclusion section, as a patient, it is recommended to look at the content of the conclusion section directly. Hepatocellular carcinoma is a malignant tumor of liver, and MRI examination of hepatocellular carcinoma can have specific manifestation, which is helpful for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. When MRI is scanned, liver cancer can show T1 low signal, and the signal of the tumor lesion will be lower than other liver tissues; while T2 is slightly high signal, and the signal of the lesion site is higher than that of the surrounding liver tissues. When enhanced MRI examination is performed, hepatocellular carcinoma will show typical fast-in-fast-out signal, i.e., in the arterial phase, the contrast agent enters rapidly and the signal of the lesion is obviously stronger than that of the surrounding tissues, and in the venous phase, the contrast agent rapidly decreases and the signal is obviously lower than that of the surrounding tissues. When liver cancer appears in MRI, doctors should combine clinical symptoms and pathological examination to confirm the diagnosis.
