Hair does not normally grow where the hair follicles are removed for hair transplantation. Hair transplants are performed by mechanically cutting the hair follicles and their surrounding tissues together and transferring them to where they are needed. Since there are no more hair follicles in the transplanted area, it is a form of scar healing, and therefore, no hair will grow back. Most hair transplants are performed by extracting the hair follicles from the back of the head. This area has more hair follicles compared to other parts of the body, and extracting a portion of them will not usually affect the appearance of the hair. After hair transplantation, the wound should be bandaged with sterile gauze under pressure, and cold compresses such as ice cubes and ice packs are used to eliminate swelling; meanwhile, the medication should be changed regularly as prescribed by the doctor. If there is persistent blood seepage, swelling and other symptoms for a long time without improvement, we should go to the regular hospital in time to avoid adverse consequences.
