Fugitive conversion disorder is a mental disorder characterized by a partial or complete loss of the ability to have normal integration between memory, identity, sensation, and bodily control. There are three main disorders of dissociative conversion disorder. The first is dissociative identity disorder, or multiple personalities, in which the patient is accompanied by memory impairment; the second is dissociative amnesia, in which the patient temporarily forgets who he or she is as a result of trauma or stress; and the last is depersonalization, in which the patient feels estranged from his or her body and is filled with a sense of unreality.
