Gastric cancer is stage III when there are lymph node metastases around the stomach. Gastric cancer is particularly prone to lymph node metastases when there is a tumor in the stomach. There may be lymph node metastasis around the abdominal trunk. Regardless of the type of lymph node metastasis, as long as positive lymph nodes are found, the stage of gastric cancer is stage III. For stage III gastric cancer, further examination is needed before and after surgery, including chemotherapy after surgery and follow-up for 5 years.
