The causes of dark shadows in the eyes are as follows: First, they can be caused by intracranial lesions, especially occipital visual center lesions, which can lead to dark shadows in the eyes and, in severe cases, to hemianopia and visual defects, which can be diagnosed by head MRI. Second, it can also be seen in intracranial occupational diseases, especially in the course of the optic nerve compression, which can lead to black shadows when the eyes look at things. Again, it can also be seen clinically in ischemia of the middle cerebral artery, especially transient cerebral ischemic attack, which can appear as a transient black shadow. Finally, if the black shadow of the eye persists for a long time, it can also be seen clinically as a hemorrhage in the fundus of the eye, mostly in patients with hypertension. For fundus hemorrhage, it is recommended to consult an ophthalmologist, and if necessary, apply medications to promote blood absorption.
