Does syringomyelia surgery hurt?

After surgery for syringomyelia, there can be a slight pain. After the surgery is completed, the anesthetic gradually dissipates and localized pain in the scrotal wound may occur. The length of the incision for syringomyelia surgery is about 4 cm, and there is only localized pain in the scrotum, but not severe pain, which is generally tolerable and not intolerable. Some patients who are sensitive to pain can be treated with symptomatic pain medication or intramuscular pain relief injections within 24 hours of surgery. After 24h of surgery, this pain gradually subsides and does not require oral or intramuscular pain medication. Therefore, mild pain can occur after syringomyelia surgery, but this pain is tolerable and does not produce severe pain.
