The diagnosis of eosinophilic mucin sinusitis is based on clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, imaging tests, pathologic tests, etc., and the confirmation of the diagnosis relies on postoperative pathologic tests. Clinical manifestations of eosinophilic mucin sinusitis are mainly nasal congestion, runny nose and decreased sense of smell, which may be accompanied by asthma. Laboratory tests for blood IgE and blood eosinophil count may reveal elevated total serum IgE and elevated blood eosinophils. Imaging CT examination reveals patchy or cloudy high-density shadows in the sinus cavities, surrounded by low-density shadows of edematous sinus mucosa. The diagnosis should be based on the pathology examination after surgery, the appearance of jam-like or greasy yellow extremely viscous secretion. HE staining showed a qualitatively pale eosinophilic mucus, and a large number of eosinophils can be seen in degeneration. It is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals for examination and treatment, and actively cooperate with doctors and make treatment plans according to individual circumstances.
