What are the treatment options for viral pneumonia

Treatment of viral pneumonia is based on symptomatic treatment and antiviral therapy if necessary. Viral pneumonia is interstitial and parenchymal inflammation of the lungs caused by viral invasion of the respiratory epithelium and alveolar epithelial cells. 1. Symptomatic treatment: Virus is a common pathogen in community-acquired pneumonia in adults, and most of them can be cured by themselves, so the treatment is mainly symptomatic. For example, patients with fever can be physically cooled down; those with headache or generalized pain can be given ibuprofen or acetaminophen for analgesic treatment; those with sore throat can be given more water; those with cough can be given cough suppressant treatment. 2. Antiviral treatment: At present, the more effective antiviral drugs include oseltamivir, ribavirin, ganciclovir and so on. If viral pneumonia is accompanied by clear bacterial infection, sensitive antibiotics should be used promptly. The use of drugs should be under the guidance of a doctor.
