Difference between fibroids and uterine nodules

Uterine nodules refer to all nodules that occur in the uterus, including uterine fibroids, adenomyomas, and uterine sarcomas, so uterine fibroids are a type of uterine nodule. Uterine fibroids refer to uterine smooth muscle tumors, which are benign tumors formed due to the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle tissues. Patients may experience discomfort such as increased menstrual flow, abdominal pain, abdominal cramping sensation, and infertility, which can usually be treated with follow-up observation, progesterone antagonists, or surgery. Uterine nodules include not only benign lesions such as uterine fibroids and adenomyomas, but also malignant diseases such as uterine sarcomas. Therefore, for patients who have been examined and found uterine nodules, it is recommended to go to gynecology department of regular hospitals to improve the ultrasound, pelvic MRI and other related examinations, and then take active treatments under the guidance of doctors after clearing out the causes of the disease.
