Cardiac stent surgery is also known as coronary stenting. The time for coronary stenting cannot be generalized, but depends on the number of stents placed and the degree of vascular lesions to determine the duration of the surgery, which is usually completed in 1 to 2 hours.
Coronary stenting refers to a procedure in which the clinician places a stent in a diseased coronary artery and expands the blood vessel through balloon dilatation or self-expansion to improve the blood supply to the myocardial cells and reduce the mortality rate of acute myocardial infarction.
Typically coronary stenting may take 1 to 2 hours to implant a stent. If the lesion is located at a vessel crossing or if the lesion is severe, the time will be slightly longer; if more than one stent is implanted at a time, the procedure time may be doubled accordingly.
If coronary stenting is required, it is advisable to be evaluated by a clinician and advised by a physician to choose the most appropriate treatment for you.
