Pregnancy may be associated with a vague feeling of pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral discomfort during menstruation.
During menstruation, the uterine cavity fills up as the lining of the uterus continues to peel away, resulting in a feeling of tenderness in the lower abdomen and discomfort in the lower back.
During pregnancy, because the uterus continues to grow, the myometrium is slowly stretched, which can be accompanied by a sensation similar to the vague pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation. Due to the growing uterus, the lumbosacral nerves can be compressed, which is accompanied by a feeling of discomfort in the lumbar region. Therefore, during pregnancy, there may be hidden pain in the lower abdomen and discomfort in the lumbosacral area during menstruation.
However, everyone has a different constitution, and some people may not have the feeling of menstruation during pregnancy, so don’t worry too much about the regular obstetric examination and ultrasound which show that they are normal.
