Radiofrequency ablation is a radical measure for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia, but the indications should be strictly controlled, and surgical treatment is recommended for patients with indications.
1. Patients with life-threatening tachyarrhythmias, such as preexcitation syndrome complicated by atrial fibrillation with extremely fast ventricular rate.
2. Frequent episodes of atrioventricular refractory tachycardia (AVRT) or atrioventricular nodal refractory tachycardia (AVNRT) for which medication or prophylaxis is ineffective, or for which medication produces intolerable adverse effects.
3. Patients with episodes of AVRT or AVNRT who are not willing to undergo lifelong medication and require radical treatment of the arrhythmia, although medication is effective in terminating and preventing the episodes.
If the above indications for surgery exist, surgical treatment is recommended, and specific advice can be obtained from specialized physicians.
