The main manifestations of anal fistula are small fistula openings around the anus, fluid flowing out of the body, sometimes with a foul odor, and a visible mass around the anus. The masses can be hard and even have significant redness and pain. Some patients may also have elevated body temperature, or even chills and high fever, which mainly indicate a heavy infection, so it is necessary to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in general surgery and anorectal surgery as soon as possible after finding the fistula. The patient should be treated with antibiotics, such as cephalosporin or penicillin, and sometimes anti-anaerobic drugs, and then under anesthesia for anal fistula excision or fistula stitching, with regular dressing changes after surgery to monitor the recovery of the wound.
