Gallstones 1.5 serious?

The severity of gallbladder stones 1.5 cm depends on whether there are frequent episodes of acute cholecystitis and chronic cholecystitis; there is no correlation between the severity and size of gallstones. Gallstones are a common benign clinical condition with etiology correlating with imbalance of bile acid-cholesterol dissolution, bacterial infection of the biliary tract, hypocontractile gallbladder function, and estrogen. The majority of gallstones are clinically quiescent or asymptomatic, but in some patients gallstones may induce symptoms of cholecystitis and biliary colic. In the case of asymptomatic stones, which are usually less than 3 cm in diameter and the gallbladder is still contracting well, they can be reviewed regularly. Surgery can be considered if the disease is more than 10 years old or when malignancy is suspected. For patients with recurrent cholecystitis, surgical removal of the gallbladder is usually considered even if the stones are relatively small.
