Erythromycin ointment can be used to treat dermatitis that has a tendency to become infected. The rash is characterized mainly by the appearance of yellow crusts as well as vesicles with yellow exudate. Before treatment, bacterial culture and drug sensitivity of the exudate can be done, and erythromycin ointment can be selected for treatment along with targeted antibacterial and anti-infective antibiotics.
