Precautions for children using atropine for pupil dilatation

  Atropine eye dots can treat both vision fatigue, pseudomyopia, and is the only accurate means to check refractive errors and determine their nature (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) and diagnose amblyopia, and is harmless to the eye body when used correctly.  1, both eyes, three times a day (morning, noon and night) each time 1 drop, for 3 days, the fourth day to the hospital for optometry.  2, parents should wash their hands and cut their nails before applying the medication, first press the inner canthus (i.e. tear sac) of both eyes and then apply the medication, the pressure should last for at least 3 minutes, and then use the tissue prepared in advance to absorb the liquid flowing outside the eyes, and then stop the pressure. The purpose is to block the tear dots to reduce the absorption of the medication from the tear dots into the oral and nasal cavities. Smaller children may have the phenomenon of blushing, drink more warm water can be.  3, the pupils are dilated, there is a fear of light (can wear sunglasses) and can not see close, it takes about three weeks to fully recover.  4.If the child has serious heart disease and the original diagnosis of glaucoma, please declare the parents, follow the doctor’s instructions to use with caution. If the child has fever, acute conjunctivitis and other diseases, use should be suspended.  5. Atropine eye medication should be used only for dilated eye examinations, and should not be used more or less frequently on your own.
