There are more meridians in the human body, taking the twelve meridians as an example, which are the backbone of the meridian system. The yang meridians are distributed on the outer side of the limbs and the face of the head and the back of the shoulders, while the yin meridians are distributed on the inner side of the limbs and the chest and abdomen.
1. The Taiyin Lung meridian of the hand starts from the lateral end of the clavicle on the anterior wall of the chest and runs along the anterior edge of the inner side of the upper limb to the radial side of the big finger.
2. The Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian starts at the radial side of the index finger, runs up the lateral side of the anterior border of the upper limb, and stops next to the opposite side of the nose.
3. The Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian starts from the lower edge of the eye, proceeds to the cheeks, then down through the chest and abdomen, and from the lateral side of the anterior edge of the lower limb to the second toe of the foot.
4. The Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian runs from the medial side of the big toe of the foot along the posterior edge of the medial side of the calf, upward through the anterior edge of the medial side of the thigh, through the abdominal chest and reaches the axilla between the 6 ribs.
5. The Heart Meridian of the Lesser Yin of the Hand travels from the axilla, cruising through the medial anterior border of the upper limb to the radial side of the little finger.
6. The Hand Solar Small Intestine Meridian starts from the little finger of the hand and travels from the outer edge of the upper limb, through the neck to the ear.
7. The Foot Solar Bladder Meridian runs from the inner side of the eyes, up the forehead, and then down through the back, behind the lower limbs, to reach the outer side of the little toe.
8. The Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian runs from the lesser toes of the foot, through the inner ankle, and up the medial side of the lower limb to the abdomen and chest.
9. The Hand Syncopal Pericardium Meridian runs from the chest, through the middle of the medial side of the upper limb, and reaches the middle finger.
10. Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian runs from the ring finger, travels up the middle of the medial side of the upper limb, follows the line through the shoulder and neck, reaches the ear and stops at the eye.
11. The Foot Shaoyang Biliary Meridian runs from the eyes down to the neck, chest and abdomen, along the middle of the lateral side of the lower limbs to the fourth toe of the foot.
12. The Liver Meridian starts from the big toe of the foot, runs along the middle of the medial side of the lower limb, and travels upward through the lower abdomen to the ribs.
