Bad breath caused by dampness-heat in the spleen and stomach and high fire in the liver can usually be treated with Chinese medicines such as gentian diarrhea and liver pills and heat-expelling and dampness-expelling granules, but the specific medication needs to be decided by the doctor according to the patient’s condition.
1.gentian diarrhea liver pill: by gentian, chaihu, scutellaria, gardenia (fried), zedoary and so on composition. It has the effect of clearing the liver and gallbladder and promoting dampness and heat. It is used for dizziness and redness caused by dampness-heat of liver and gallbladder, tinnitus and deafness, dystocia and bitterness of mouth (pain in the area of dystocia and ribcage, bitterness in the mouth), redness of urine, and wet-heat leucorrhea. It should not be taken for a long time by people with weak spleen and stomach, and should be used with caution by pregnant women and people with stomach cold.
2. Heat-clearing and Dampness-eliminating Granules: It is composed of Radix Codonopsis pilosulae, Radix et Rhizoma Pinelliae, Radix et Rhizoma Gangmai, Radix Astragali, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Rhizoma Chrysanthemum, and Fructus Chen Pi. It has the effect of clearing heat and dampness, benefiting qi and generating fluids (promoting the production of fluids by replenishing qi). It is used for treating fatigue of limbs, loss of appetite, body heat and dry mouth caused by summer dampness. Not recommended for diabetic patients.
