Numbness in the right foot is mainly caused by nerve compression, mostly in patients with lumbar disc herniation, causing numbness in one side of the foot, and the symptoms are particularly pronounced during prolonged standing and bending activities. Then there is the local nerve compression in the leg, such as pear-shaped muscle syndrome or sciatic neuritis, which also easily causes numbness in one side of the foot. There is also compression of the common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa, which can cause numbness in the back of the foot or the bottom of the foot. If the patient has compression of the tibial nerve in the medial ankle area, it can also cause numbness on the bottom of the foot. In the external ankle area causing compression of the superficial peroneal nerve, it can cause numbness in the back of the foot.
