Right subcostal skin pain may be caused by herpes zoster, lateral rib skin injury, intercostal neuritis, and so on.
1. Herpes zoster: Herpes zoster can cause radiating pain extending to the lower edge of the right side of the ribcage, or pinprick pain, with erythema, blisters and papules appearing on the surface of the skin at the same time or a little later.
2. Skin injury on the outside of the rib cage: it may be caused by direct external force or muscle pulling injury, which will break the skin on the outside of the rib cage, accompanied by pain.
3. Intercostal neuritis: it is related to the inflammatory response caused by intercostal nerve injury, infection, etc. It often manifests as pain in the area innervated by the intercostal nerve.
There may be other causes of right subcostal skin pain, and it is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals in time to find out the cause of the disease and give standardized treatment.
