Hemostatic dressings for open wounds

There are many ways to stop bleeding and dress open wounds, commonly used are acupressure method, pressure dressing method, stuffing method, tourniquet method and so on.
1. Shiatsu method: that is, use the fingertips to press the arterial parts of the body surface, applicable to head and neck hemorrhage by pressing one side of the common carotid artery, bleeding in the upper arm by pressing the axillary artery, etc., which can be effective in stopping bleeding in emergency situations.
2. Pressurized bandage method: it is the most commonly used hemostatic bandage method. It is suitable for bleeding from small arteries and small veins. That is, first use sterile gauze to put on the wound, then add a layer of gauze cushion pressure, and finally use a bandage with pressure bandage.
3. Filling method: applicable to muscle and other bleeding. That is, use sterile gauze to fill in the wound, then cover a layer of sterile gauze on the surface of the wound, and then use a bandage with pressure. This method can be used to stop bleeding after injury in areas that can not be compressed, such as the neck and so on.
4. Tourniquet method: apply to the limbs wound bleeding, and pressure bandage can not effectively stop bleeding. In the process of its use, the bandage area should be larger, do not wrap too tightly, every hour to relax for 1 to 2 minutes.
Open wounds need to go to the hospital in time after stopping bleeding, to be further surgery and other treatments, so as not to delay treatment.
