What’s with the white spots on the tongue?

White spots on the tongue are often seen in oral ulcers, but may also be lichen planus, thrush or oral leukoplakia. Mouth ulcers are common, white spots appear on the tongue or buccal mucosa, with a depression in the center and obvious pain symptoms, a disease caused by autoimmune deficiencies, and the ulcers usually heal on their own in about two weeks. White lesions on the tongue can also occur in lichen planus, thrush or oral leukoplakia. The white changes of lichen planus or oral leukoplakia cannot be erased, while the white pseudomembrane of thrush can be wiped away, revealing the bright red wounds inside. White spots on the tongue are mostly seen in the above cases, and if they persist for a long time they need to go to the dentist in time.
