Hanxia Laxing Xin Tang is suitable for treating lumpy syndromes characterized by a mixture of cold and heat (both cold and heat syndromes occurring in the same patient), which are characterized by a lumpy feeling under the heart (mainly referring to the distension and discomfort in the stomach), but with fullness and no pain, which may be accompanied by intestinal tinnitus and dysentery, or vomiting. Semixia Diarrheal Heart Tang is a Chinese herbal formula, which is a conciliatory formula composed of ginseng, scutellaria baicalensis, coptis chinensis, semixia, jujube, dry ginger, licorice, etc. It has the efficacy of eliminating lumps and dispersing knots and regulating cold and heat, and is clinically used for treating lumpy syndromes mixed with cold and heat, which are characterized by lumpyness under the heart but fullness without pain, and may be accompanied by intestinal tinnitus and dysentery, or vomiting. This formula is mainly used in treating deficiency and solid syndromes, but should not be used in treating plumpness under the heart due to stagnation of Qi or accumulation of food in the stomach due to indigestion of food.
