Do burn patients need to avoid eating?

People call chicken, duck, fish, shrimp and other foods “hairy” in the diet after burns and include them in the list of forbidden food. After the skin is burned, the body will mobilize its own ability to repair the wound and make the injured skin recover as much as possible, and many biological materials are needed in the process of repairing the burn (trauma), just like a damaged house needs bricks, tiles, cement and other building materials when restoring its original appearance. Most of these substances are found in lean meat of animals such as pigs, cows, sheep and fish, and in vegetable proteins such as soy products, because the trauma surface loses a lot of nutrients after burns and needs to be replenished urgently, therefore, high quality proteins such as fish and lean meat, which are beneficial for trauma repair, should be taken in moderation. Folk call chicken, duck, fish, shrimp and other foods “hairy” and included in the list of forbidden food, some into worry that the consumption of ginger will grow “ginger bumps”, consumption of soy sauce, vinegar will promote skin darkening, etc., these statements from the perspective of modern medicine consider the lack of scientific basis. Although there is no strict taboo in the diet of burn patients in Western medicine, spicy, greasy, irritating food should be minimized.
