Pain during intercourse can be caused by the following factors: First, pain due to vaginal dryness. Women with sexual frigidity or inflammatory vaginal diseases cause local dryness or edema and congestion in the vagina, which can lead to friction during intercourse, with painful areas in the vulva or vagina. Second, patients with inflammatory diseases of the cervix or pelvis cause painful intercourse because of pelvic congestion and mechanical stimulation or pulling during intercourse, with painful areas in the middle of the abdomen or the entire abdomen. Third, patients with adenomyosis or pelvic stasis syndrome can experience pain during intercourse, mainly due to pelvic adhesions caused by pelvic lesions and pain caused by stimulation or pulling during intercourse.
